New Music Fridays: JoJo, Phil Collins & More

Friday’s are incredibly exciting here at the Warner Music South Africa office. New Music Fridays is a day when all new releases hit digital and physical stores around the world. Every week, we will showcase some of our exciting releases right here on our website as we help you get your weekend playlist sorted. These are what new releases you should check out this week:

JoJo – Mad Love

She’s back! JoJo makes her highly-anticipated comeback today as she releases her third studio album ‘Mad Love’. The album features the banging new single ‘F Apologies’ featuring Wiz Khalifa and is the first the star has released in a decade. “The experience was therapeutic, and a lot of fun. I had such a great time in the studio, writing these songs with the people I collaborated with, and making sure that there was a cohesive sound and feel to this album,” the star said in an interview recently. We’re very excited about this release.

Phil Collins – The Singles

If you’re a Phil Collins fan, we’ve got a treat for you this week! Today, the singer drops his ultimate greatest hits album which encompasses every single his on one album. The record will unfold chronologically, starting with 1981’s “In the Air Tonight” and ending with 2010’s “Going Back.” All of Collins’ big hits are here, including his seven No. 1 songs from the ’80s: “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now),” “Sussudio,” “One More Night,” “Separate Lives,” “A Groovy Kind of Love,” “Two Hearts” and “Another Day in Paradise.” Many of the tracks have been remastered making this the ultimate gift for any Phil Collins fan.

Conor Oberst – Ruminations

Conor Oberst is a fantastic singer/songwriter and today, the star drops his second solo album ‘Ruminations’. The star has already done incredible things as part of Bright Light and the supergroup Monsters Of Folk but he’s excited to be bringing out a collection of new solo material. This is a raw, honest album which is incredibly impressive since it the star recorded the entire thing in under 48 hours. This is a record you should definitely take a listen to this week.

Katie Melua – In Winter

Katie Melua returns with yet another spectacular album this week. Her new album, ‘In Winter’, sees the star take a different direction as she celebrates the season in song. She features the harmoniously rich Gori Women’s Choir whom accompany her delicate vocals. The choir supplies nostalgia and warmth amid a cold atmosphere. This is Katie as you’ve never seen her before and fans are in for a treat!
