Rhiannon Giddens – Freedom Highway

Rhiannon Giddens releases her highly-anticipated second studio album this week – and it’s a powerful one. On ‘Freedom Highway’, Rhiannon sings about some incredibly important topics and uses the power of music to change the world. Pitchfork calls the album “a record populated with sexual violence, police shootings, and church bombings” but it’s a lot more than that. Rhiannon has a fantastic collection of songs that need to be heard and delivers them in an effortless, emotional manner that will hook any listener in. A must-listen this week.

THEY. – Nu Religion: Hyena

After releasing the incredible EP ‘Nu Religion’ back in 2015, THEY. have been back in studio working on some new material and today, the group release a deluxe edition of their debut release. The 14-track album is an incredibly creative take on hip-hop and the genre is blended with new age, trap and alternative elements. If you were a fan of the first EP, you’re going to be incredibly proud of the new release.

Stormzy – Gang Signs & Prayer

British rapper Stormzy has quickly become one of the prominent new faces in the British grime and hip-hop scene. His debut single “Big for Your Boots” became a massive hit and he wowed audiences when he took the stage with Ed Sheeran at the BRITs. Now, the rapper has released his debut album, ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’. The album has already received rave reviews from critics. In fact, Jordan Bassett of NME stated that Stormzy “delivers a knockout debut that’s brash and pensive in equal measure.” The album is out today and trust us, you don’t want to miss it.
